I solved by using E3 Trial and Error; what's the real method

Postby Paladin167 » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:28 am

I haven't solved a puzzle in about 6 years; don't remember all the techniques; while working on this puzzle, solved to this point. By trial and error, solved for E3 value, but don't know what the techical term for a solution might be. Be interested in knowing what method (technique) solves this puzzle.

Thank you.

Posting only the solved cells doesn't help much because we have no idea how many basic eliminations you performed.

This puzzle needs several additional steps after basics. Assuming you fould all of the basic eliminations:

17.2.5.966549.372.9.2.....5..7329.6.3..6512.726.874..972....1.....1.297.4.....6.2

Thank you very much for your analysis. I would have posted the "candidates" (I had them in what I thought was a box format like you presented), but I couldn't get the numbers to line up, even after I tried the "code" setting and used "New Courier" font. I remembered having been told to present the information as a "string", so that's what I did (My final puzzle appeared as yours does). Anyway, I appreciate your answer and I will study the information you have provided.

Thank you very much.
