i'm stuck, need help

Postby bebo » Thu Jul 09, 2015 8:05 pm

need help with this. one website told me i was stuck (duh!) another gave me the next step but i cannot for the life of me figure out why that number goes there, don't see the logic. (there might be a better way of doing this, uploaded phone pic of the puzzle as an attachment, but i'm new, just joined for this puzzle, so i don't shoot me, there should be a grid in the message box. here goes). so one of the online solver said r9c9 should be 3, but i don't understand why, and i refuse to continue without understanding how i got there. i know r8c9 and r9c9 can potentially be 3 and 8, but r2c9 can also be a 3, and r1c9 can also be an 8. can it really just be unsolvable? please help, going crazy over this.

bebo, welcome to the new Sudoku player's forum.

Unfortunately you picture doesn't seem to have made it, so I am unable to help with your question.

If you are having trouble uploading a picture of your puzzle, the best thing you can do is to physically type it in. For solved cells just put in the number. If the cell is not solved just put in a period (full stop). Your input may look something like this

..8...9..
.5.8.3.4.
4...1...8
.3..8..9.
..49.76..
.9..3..7.
6...7...1
.7.1.5.6.
..1...2..

You can improve the presentation of the puzzle by selecting the puzzle text and clicking on the Code button at the top of the reply box. If you do this the puzzle should look something like this :

Code: Select all
..8...9..
.5.8.3.4.
4...1...8
.3..8..9.
..49.76..
.9..3..7.
6...7...1
.7.1.5.6.
..1...2..

When we have this information we will be able to help you.
