I don't understand this hint

Hi, I got stuck at a game shown above and took a hint from the game (Classic Sudoku). The hint was "4/5 pair in r7c4c5 forces 5 into R8R9C2. Fixes 1 in R5C2". As you can see from the image, in the bottom left I've noted (Snyder notation I think it's called) that 5 can only be in R8R9C2 due to said 4/5 pair, but I don't see how that leads to 1 going into R5C2. I'm confused :/ Could someone explain it please.

Thanks

PS I noticed in R2C2 that 1 shouldn't be there.

Hi GlassWizzard

r7c56 must have only (45) as possible digits, so no 5 is true in r7c123.
Thus, in block 7 we must have 5s locked at r89c2.
Now notice that only two digits are possible at r5c2, one of them being 5.

Code: Select all
...792..8...8641.5..6315....6...3.7.7.2.863.9.4.9.7........82..6.8271...2.4639...

Even easier. r3c2 has the only 8 in Column 2. Then r2c2 has the only 2 in Column 2 and then r2c3 has the only 7 in Row 2. Leren

I see, thank you for the help. I haven't had to use the hint system since then, hopefully that holds up :)

Thanks
