I can't even start this puzzle

Postby Gee » Sat Jul 28, 2007 5:31 pm

A friend of mine gave me this puzzle to work because he couldn't even get started. With complete confidence in my solving abilities, I told him no problem. But there is a problem, I cannot even find a single candidate even after two hours of trying. My humility has returned and I need help to even know where to start. This is embarrassing and I hope somebody can at least point out what I can do to begin this puzzle. Is this a tough puzzle or have I missed something that is rather obvious? Thanks for your help.

Silly wabbit. Trix are for kids!

Valid puzzle. Not likely to be solved on paper.

after cheking the puzzle I believe there is a mistake in the original because it can't be solved.
After assuming that R7c9 has to be 3 we came to this position

1.3|45.|..9
5..|1..|.34
648|937|251
----------------
35.|..4|...
4..|56.|3.8
286|379|415
----------------
..2|.4.|5.3
.34|..5|...
7.5|.93|.42

now R9C4 has to be either 8 or 6. Both cases proove to be imposiible eventually.

This thread will be locked because the original poster Gee already posted the same puzzle on another thread. And a also posted the identical content of his/her reply on that thread to here. So in the future please refrain from doing so. It isn't a serious problem but just might cause the frowning of some of our seasoned members.
