Hi there,

I'm new to all this and have been trying to finish a puzzle and can't find the solution anywhere!!

I looked on this website but it asked me for the first 5 numbers. Which first 5 numbers?!

Please help! lol

The first five numbers are the first five clue numbers in the original grid.

As you would read normally - left to right then top to bottom. There's a pretty full explanation of it on the site if I remember correctly.

Left to right starting with the top row, continuing if necessary with succeeding rows, left to right, until 5 numbers are entered. Note that there are multiple valid puzzles that could theoretically match a single such entry, but the puzzles published by Pappocom are most likely chosen so that each such entry is unique, and stored in a database.

(And how many unique such puzzles would that be?)

Interesting. An upper limit is obviously 9^5 (about sixty thousand), but generally the five clues in question are likely to share a lot of units with each other, so it'd in reality be much less. How much less, I have no clue.
