Hidden triple defintion?

Postby SourGumdrop » Mon Feb 05, 2007 4:51 pm

In the following row, 6 can be deleted from column 3 because of the 4 in column 3, and the 2,4,5 in columns 5 and 6

| 8 1 46 | 3 245 245 | 69 7 69 |

Is this pattern a hidden triple? If not what?
To save me asking simple questions like this again, is there somewhere with universally accepted defintions of all sudoku terms?
Thanks.

This indeed is a hidden triple, although some people might have spotted the naked pair of 6,9 in columns 7 and 9, to eliminate the 6 in column 3.

    Is this a hidden triple?
        yes the {2,4,5} is a "hidden" trio -- but a degenerate one,
        as there's a "hidden" duo {2,5}
        ( which creates a "hidden single" 4 )
