Regarding candidate eliminations, how do I check to see if a candidate I’ve removed is a valid elimination? Thanks, Steve

Regarding candidate eliminations, how do I check to see if a candidate I’ve removed is a valid elimination?

In Preferences/General you have the options "Show invalid values" and "Show deviations". Make sure they're turned on (I think they are by default), and then invalid placements and eliminations color the value or candidate faint red. If it's a valid elimination, the candidate simply disappears.

Btw, if you change those preferences, it seems that you have to restart the software (not just the current game) to make those changes take effect. That's kind of weird, because I don't know any other changes that require that.
