Help with Apps

I need to buy, download or get access to use a Sudoku Solver or some such into which I can import a formatted image of a puzzle from this forum, similar to this by Steve from 9Dec23:

Code: Select all
 *-----------*
 |4..|19.|.58|
 |...|.34|7.1|
 |...|..8|...|
 |---+---+---|
 |...|...|9..|
 |.39|.1.|24.|
 |..8|...|...|
 |---+---+---|
 |...|2..|...|
 |6.5|98.|...|
 |87.|.45|..9|
 *-----------*

My Sadman Software program stopped working a month after I changed computers and their website has disappeared. I have found other apps which will import an 81-character string, but none that will take a formatted diagram.

The output looks like being from Hodoku - so pasting into Hodoku will work.

There are also versions of SudokuExplainer and SukakuExplainer that will accept grids with/without formatting.

Another possibility that may be useful to you. The Excel solvers downloadable on http://sudokugeant.cabanova.com contain an import function to convert a formatted grid into an 81 characters-line.
You can also copy/paste several grids in a folder and convert them into a list of lines.

Thanx for your suggestions. It's taking me a while to work my way through them.
To download Hodoku, is it better to get it from SouceForge or GitHub ?
