Do you know anything about using 'candidates'? If not, read simes's or angusj's stuff. Simes's URL is all over the site, shouldn't be too hard to find one. God knows what would happen if they got together. They could take over the forum.

I have provided some hints for you in the first thread you started. Please do not make duplicate posts.

Don't be rude Karyobin, he's (she?) only started playing today.

Look at row 2. The 3 empty cells must contain 1, 2 and 6. Therefore no other cell in box 1 (the top left corner box) can contain 1, 2 or 6. If r1c3 (row 1 column 3) cannot contain a 6, there is only one cell in column 3 that can contain a 6.

I hope this hint is clear, and you should be able to solve it from here.

Scrose, I think your link opens this topic page, not a different one with your hints on it (unless my browser doesn't like me today).

I protest - I wasn't! I just thought that as there was no mention of elimination or anything of that ilk, it was likely that, as a self-confessed newbie 1234 (?) may actually not have discovered any of the tactics we take for granted.

Gonna sulk now.

P.S. Just a tip though 1234, trial and error techniques are multilaterally and totally banned by all players on this site, so if you catch anyone saying they're legit., report them to Pappocom. That's what we all do.

No offence meant Karyobin, I just thought that you telling a someone who's been playing for less than a day to read up on candidates seemed a little unnecessary.

Never mind.
