Help PLEASE with next move from yesterday's newspaper puzzle

Postby mayres » Tue Dec 18, 2007 5:06 am

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the next move is (and the logic) to go the next step in this puzzle? I have a feeling it is very easy and I'm just missing something. THANKS! Puzzle is from the Statesman Journal Newspaper - sunday 12/16/07

Your PM has eight solutions. There really isn't a correct next move.

Excuse my ignorance, but are you saying that I have left the puzzle in an erroneous "condition" - placed numbers where they are in error?
I'm not even sure what you mean with the acronym "PM" - sorry. Does this mean "possible move"?
Obviously a newbie here with not much sudoku knowledge in the expert strata.
If you could further tell me what you mean I would be most appreciative - If there are 8 possible next moves can you please briefly tell me what they are and how you make those conclusions. mike

hi mayres

1. daj95376 is telling you
that the puzzle as posted by you has 8 answers.
this means one of the following --
either the Statesman Journal misprinted the puzzle,
    or you mis-copied it.
it would be good if you could post the original puzzle as it appeared in the newspaper!

2. "PM" means "pencilmarks" ( i.e. the list of possibilities in each cell )
