Code: Select all
`+-------+-------+-------+| . 4 2 | 8 1 . | . . . | | . . . | . 6 . | . . . | | . 5 . | . 9 4 | . .(3)| +-------+-------+-------+| . 7 . | . . . | .(3)1 | | . 3 8 | . . . | 5 9 . | | 6 9 . | . . . | . 4 . | +-------+-------+-------+| 4 . . |(3)2 . | . 5 . | | . . . | . 4 . | . . . | | .[.]. | . 8 9 | 6 2 . | +-------+-------+-------+`

The only things you need to look for in this puzzle are:

1) Spaces in which only one digit can go.
2) Rows, columns or boxes that have only one space left that can hold a specific number.

An example of the first tactic: Look at the space in [brackets]. It can't be a 2, 6, 8 or 9 because those digits are already in that row. It can't be a 3, 4, 5 or 7 because those digits are in that column. What is the only digit left? That's the one that goes in that space.

An example of the second tactic: Look at column 7 and ask yourself "In which space can I place a 3?" Look at the 3s in (parenthesis) for the answer.

TSO responded within two hours. I guess that was not soon enough.
