FWIW here is a line format version of the Valentines day puzzle : .37...18.5.13.42.72..617..91...4...336.....41.28...79...34.19.....928.......3....

Looks cute in a grid but solves in singles.

That is the "Mild". There are three others, "Hard", "Very Hard" and "Squiggly" if you scroll through the levels.

Here are the line formats for the "hard" and "very hard" Valentines Day puzzles:

.38...65.7..1.5..85...8...94...5...68.......4.7.....9...1...3.....672.......4....

.52...43.3..1.9..87...4...65...6...79.......2.4.....1...8...6.....728.......3....

The "hard" puzzle solves with singles and one pointing pair. The "very hard" puzzle solves with some basics and an XY Wing. All the puzzles have a heart shaped look on a grid.

The "Squiggly" puzzle is, I think, a Jigsaw Sudoku. I'll pass on that.

Yes, the point is the stencil pattern of the original clues.
