gaming system and method for sudoku-based game - patent

A few days ago, I came across this patent for a gambling gaming system and method for sudoku-based game - patent filed in 2008, granted in 2016, expires in 2031.

Anyone seen one of these yet? Will it be a commercial success??

My summary, from having skim-read a small part of it:

Players can be at same location (casino, game arcade, etc.) using sudoku game machines, or multiple locations (internet connected!) using supplied software.

A game is 5 rounds of solving a single (highlighted) cell of a sudoku puzzle, players are presented with similar puzzles of the same difficulty level!

Each round is timed lasting no more than 20 seconds, scoring is (20 - time taken in seconds (to nearest milliseconds) to solve a puzzle). Incorrect or no (timed out) answer scores 0. After 5 rounds the player with the most points wins.

So if 8 players each paid $5 to play a game (pot is $40), winner gets $16, 2nd placed gets $12, 3rd place gets $8, and house keeps $4 (10%).
