Forum Usage Guidelines

This forum is provided as a service to the Sudoku community, to help them exchange ideas, tips, information, and techniques related to Sudoku. These Forums are here for the enjoyment and benefit of all members and are accessible to all who register. As with any community, these forums are most valuable when everyone follows certain basic guidelines and rules for online behavior. These guidelines and rules are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and the other participants using this forum. By registering, you agree to follow these Usage Guidelines.

We are here to help
If you are new to the Forums and are unsure about anything, just ask! The moderators and other participants are always happy to help. Moderators are identified by their rank in the members list.

Keep it relevant
For everyone's benefit, please stay on topic. This Forum is provided specifically to talk to each other about Sudoku and other puzzle games related to Sudoku. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or from posting in a manner unrelated to the discussion topics.

Keep it courteous
Everyone wants a positive experience while on the Forums - please make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment ('flaming') either in the forums or through private messaging are not acceptable.

Keep it spam-free
This forum is not for the promotion of third-party services, products, Web sites, or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.

Keep it legal
It is unacceptable to post any material (i) that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, (ii) that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or (iii) that is deemed to be illegal by any local, state, federal, or international law.

Be careful
Most people are happy to help out on these Forums, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether to follow it. If the advice given by a user sounds wrong to you, do not try it. In particular, if any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.

Moderators retain the right to remove content and limit users' access. The moderators do not generally edit or monitor content posted by participants in the forum. However, the moderators retain the right, at their sole discretion, to limit users' access to the Forum and to remove material that, in their sole judgment, does not comply with the present Usage Guidelines, or that is otherwise inappropriate for these Forums, harmful, objectionable, or inaccurate. The moderators are not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material. Moderators may take any action they deem necessary to support the Usage Guidelines. In general, they can act to stop any behaviors that can detract from the experience of other users or the purpose of the community. Such actions may include editing or deleting material and banning individual users.
