How do I find the ER rating of a Su-Doku puzzle?

I checked the links and buttons on the site. None of them seem to work.

Is there another way?

I just tried Launch Sudoku Explainer on that site and it worked as always.

ER is the rating given by Sudoku Explainer.

You can download and run SE or use it on the web, that is how you can learn the ER of a puzzle.

I just tried Launch Sudoku Explainer on that site and twenty-eight seconds later it failed and there was a message at the bottom of the screen which said "Loading Java Applet Failed..."

I clicked "Launch Again" and eight seconds later it failed and there was a message at the bottom of the screen which said "Loading Java Applet Failed..."

I clicked "Launch Again" and four seconds later it failed and there was a message at the bottom of the screen which said "Loading Java Applet Failed..."

I gave up.

We haven't been told the OS involved yet so I waited to suggest:
Sun Java is much better than MicroSoft Java. Installing it into windows
fixes a great many Java problems.

You can get it here. here.

I managed to get hold of a working version at a public library and I put my favourite Su-Doku puzzles in it.

Is the ER rating, then, just the rating of the hardest technique needed to solve the puzzle?
