Does this have a name?

Postby Hud » Fri Dec 09, 2005 6:03 pm

Earlier today I was thinking about x-y wings and remembered that I've seen this:
xy, xz, and yz in the same column or row. It never dawned on me that I could eliminate all instances of x, y, and z in that row or column. I just did a puzzle where that occurred twice and both times it eliminated several candidates.
Please don't tell me I'm wrong since I would be crushed.

Presumably you mean all OTHER instances of x, y and z ?
This is just a naked triple.

I couldn't see the forest for the trees.
Crushed again.
