Does adding colors with numbers help solving sudoku?

Postby sukugo » Sat Sep 15, 2012 12:24 am

When I play Sudoku on paper with pencil, I found, many times, I missed reading some numbers.
So I was stuck for something could be easy.
To solve this problem, I added colors to associate with each number and make it colorful.
This helps me a lot. So I feels our brains reads colors faster than interpreting numbers.
Any idea why?

It is a question of how you have trained yourself. I can spot all of the occurrences of a single digit in an instant without thinking about it or scanning the board, but I couldn't do that until I had been playing Sudoku every day for almost two years.
