Pretty tricky, Leren. I like it, but I'm glad you added the stars. From the lessons I got from Danny, I think the second star should precede the 7, i.e. (8=7*) r5c2 = 8 r3c2 - (8=3) r3c7 - (3*7=8) r5c7.

Also, for the implication to work, you need a strong link between 8r3c2 and 8r3c7 (which you have), but how should that appear in the notation?

Hi Steve, I've always struggled to notate this move - the notation problem is harder than the move itself - not a good sign for the notation system.

In this case I have Strong links on 8 both in Column 2 and Row 3, for the 3 eliminations. I suppose I could write something like :

(8=7*) r5c2 = 8 r3c2 - (8=3) r3c7 - (3*7=8) r5c7;
(8=3*) r3c7 = 8 r3c2 - (8=7) r5c2 - (7*3=8) r5c7; => - 8 r4c7, r5c38

Written this way it looks a bit like 2 moves masquerading as one, but then continuous loops are, strictly speaking, traversed in both directions to prove the eliminations, but nobody ever writes them that way.
