Similar to Luke, but using MUG r358c23
If r8c1 = 1:
r7c2 = 4 => r8c2 <> 4
r1c1 = 6; r1c8 = 1; r3c8 = 2; r3c7 = 3 => r3c23 <> 3
r3c7 = 3; r5c3 = 2 => r5c3 <> 2
Therefore r8c1 <> 1
If r8c1 = 1:
r7c2 = 4 => r8c2 <> 4
r1c1 = 6; r1c8 = 1; r3c8 = 2; r3c7 = 3 => r3c23 <> 3
r3c7 = 3; r5c3 = 2 => r5c3 <> 2
Therefore r8c1 <> 1

Hi, pjb. I could not find your MUG, but it does seem obvious that you are referring to the (178) DP. The internal outs +3, +2 and +4 all lead to your conclusion.
