I gather that you've picked up this ALS notation from someone else here, but I hope that you'll revert to using what was accepted ALS notation until these more recent threads. I'm especially concerned that others will start picking it up.

Notation is supposed to make it reasonably easy for the reader to understand and while some attempts to simplify it don't hurt that much (eg. -6 r2c8 vs. r2c8<>6), showing just a strong link between 2 digits of a 5 digit almost locked set makes it really hard to follow not to mention that it doesn't accurately represent what is going on.

The reason I prefer 'my' (well, afaik, it was the version most often used by most others in the past) version is that when you read it left-to-right, it shows what is really happening: eg. if not 6, then you're left with the locked set 1239 in r2c1235 which is what forces not 9, leaving the locked set 38 in r37c3 and so on. However, if push-comes-to-shove, I would grudgingly accept almost anything that shows all digits of the set rather than (6=9).
