The Daily Sudoku Forum is down. Marty and I are attempting to contact the absentee owner to see what we can do.

Please post responses / suggestions here.

Hi All,

It seemed to be up this morning. I could access the site again and view posts. I even started a new topic in the "General" section.

However it never completed a reply post to the "Vanhegan Fiendish October 21" puzzle, which was the original problem that I experienced.

Does anyone have updated info?

Update Edit: After initially completing this post and browsing this forum, I returned to the daily sudoku and found that my reply post had completed. I know that it took more that 5 minutes but........ the saga continues.

i was trying a Reply ( at www.DailySuDoku.com/sudoku/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6706 )
and kept getting failure-messages --
then after a few minutes, all those replies suddenly appeared,
i had to go back and delete the extras

Do you know if it is possible/acceptable/appropriate to create a "Daily Sudoku Other" like forum here on the "New Sudoku Player's" forum, either temporarily or permanently?

Hi Ted, only the admin Jason Lion can create a sub-forum. In the meantime, feel free to start threads in the existing 'Help with puzzles and solving techniques' sub-forum.

I created a new Puzzles forum, where you can post puzzles for others to solve. I will also be moving a couple of the existing posts that fit that category into the new area.

Jason Lion & Ron,

I would like to thank you for the invitation to become a part of your "New Sudoku Players' Forum" and especially for creating a special sub-forum area that we can play in. For me it seems that Christmas arrived early this year.

I, and probably other Daily Sudoku user who will hopefully find this site, do not know the existing Rules of the Road. Please do not hesitate to point them out when/where it is appropriate.

I just tried the Daily Sudoku site and I did NOT get the

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

error message; I got the Discussion/Forum home page! However, when I attempted to most a message, I got a "Debug Mode" error message.

Keith or Marty, have you been able to contact the absentee owner? Is someone actively working on bringing the site back online?

I posted and then deleted a response to admin samgj's test message. Both steps OK.

I've e-mailed Sam about the problem. Let's see what happens. By the way, just the forum is down; the part with the puzzles and Draw/Play is working.
