Does this app generate puzzles or does it get them from a list? If it's from a list how did you initially generate them.

They come from a list. I generated them using several different Sudoku generation programs (primarily HoDoKu - a version I modified) and from a large collection (several million), wrote a script to extract a selection of puzzles in various difficulty ranges and requiring assorted techniques. They were scored using Sudoku Explainer.
