Your clues are lacking symmetry.
Are you missing two clues row 8, box 9?

i wish i was!

it's puzzle 73 in the july 2005 issue of su-doku selection.

i also think there must be a mistake somewhere. the above puzzle is as it began in the book. i have entered nothing.

if you wish i can scan the page directly from the book and send it via email. i promise i have not omitted anything. do you propose is it is a misprint somewhere?

yours in frustration

iain

thank you thank you thank you

having just looked through the entire book. every other puzzle has this starting symetry.

the bottom right square must be missing something.

this puzzle has P***ed me off and drove me near insane for weeks!

do you think i have recourse to sue the publisher?!!!

i'm going to look for their number to give them some abuse.

incompetent, mo-fo's

thankyou for finally allowing me to lay that damn book to rest!

I think this is how the symmetrical starting grid should appear.

Code: Select all
 . . . | . . . | . . .
 4 8 . | . 3 9 | . . .
 . 7 . | 2 . 4 | . 3 1
-------+-------+-------
 . 9 4 | . . . | 2 6 .
 8 . . | . . . | . . 9
 . 2 7 | . . . | 5 4 .
-------+-------+-------
 5 4 . | 9 . 3 | . 8 .
 . . . | 6 2 . | . 1 7
 . . . | . . . | . . .

i have no idea of the process applied to figure that, but i will tackle it anew with those additions.

thanks.

p.s. i rang the publisher whom apologised for the error (pointed out to him by a good few people he admitted) and has pledged to furnish me with next months publication gratis.
