What are the best lower and upper bound known for the number of sudoku grids with region size MxN?

I am unable to find any bounds on the wiki page (Maybe you could point them out?).

For example one could make the trivial bounds

Lower bound (MN)!
Upper bound (MN)^((MN)^2)
