DP (79), r23c28: 79r1c2=8r2c8

1) (79=8)r1c249-(8=6)r8c9-(6=9)r4c9
2) r2c8=8*-(8=7)r2c6-(7=9)r1c4-(98=7)r2c8,r1c49-(7=3)r5c9-(3=6)r7c9-(6=9)r4c9=>r4c9=9

(Someone told me just the other day how to handle these split links and I forgot already) :oops:

Marty, you don't need the UR for your chain.

Your chains have 8r1c9 on the one side and 8r2c8 on the other, which is true also without the UR, and e.g. is used in Leren's H3 wing as starting point (right side).

The only (direct) elimination i saw from the UR is r1c5<>9 (must be 3 or 8).

Eleven,

Thanks. Helpful advice is always welcome. I didn't really consider my solution to be a chain. Actually, I couldn't find a chain for this puzzle. However, I noticed that each of the three DP-killing possibilities led to the common outcome of r4c9=9 and I was just trying to show that via notation.

Thanks again,
Marty
