There will be the odd "straight forward puzzle" every now and then ... This w-wing for you is so obvious it hurts

Leren usually spots them in record time. I confess that I knew of it but still allowed it as the frequency of posting these has dwindled

Don't get me wrong -- I'm grateful that you bother to post puzzles at all! I'm totally fine with the occasional "too easy" puzzles. In fact, it's not a bad idea to cater to a larger audience with varying skill sets. Perhaps experienced players should simply avoid using the easiest solutions, so they remain available for the less experienced ones.

Nice chain, and (in reverse) a Kraken (6)c6, to give you a second stte elimination as -6 r9c4.
Plus, if you drop your last term and again reverse the chain, you get the remote-fin chain, (6-7)r6c6 = r6c8 - (7=6)r9c8, needed for:
Kraken Franken Siamese 1x1 Fish(6)c6\(b8|r8) + rfr6c6 => -6 r9c4,r8c8; stte
