Seems to me like your chain actually cannibalizes the second digit, 7r3c7, in the AIC. Would it be more proper to run the chain maybe as:
(7=8)r2c7 – (8=4)r1c9 – (4=5)r1c5 - (5=7)UR:r37c46 => -7 r3c7
