Hello all. I'm stuck with fiendish #107, this is how far I got:

78x|1xx|xx2
xxx|xx6|x84
xxx|8xx|1x9
--------------
4x7|xx9|x1x
x93|xxx|54x
x6x|4xx|9xx
--------------
3x8|xx4|xxx
x4x|3xx|xxx
1xx|xx5|4x3

Any hints how I should proceed further would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Cris

Hi Cris

Well you should be able to find where the 8 goes in row 9 and where the 1 goes in column 2. Hope this helps!

You also have enough clues to tell you where to put the 3 in column 6 and the 1 in column 2!

I can't see the Doctor's 3 in column 6:?:

If you look at the last three columns, you will see that there is only one possible place for the final 9.

Look at column 6 or row 1:

Column 6:
x 6 x - 9 x x - 4 x 5

Numbers missing: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8

r1c6:
1: impossible (r1c4)
2: impossible (r1c9)
3: possible
7: impossible (r1c1)
8: impossible (r3c4) (it's in the same box)

Row 1:

7 8 x | 1 x x | x x 2

Numbers missing: 3, 4, 5, 6, 9

r1c6: (only writing this one, since the others aren't intresting)
3: possible
4: impossible (r7c6)
5: impossible (r9c6)
6: impossible (r2c6)
9: impossible (r4c6)

If you do this then you find the 3:)
