Appendix? The beginning of the large intestine I believe and certainly the cause of many people's endings when inflamed and untreated.
(PS and completely OT - interesting that the basic requests for help with puzzles have dried up completely under the new management. Perhaps it is not user-friendly)

Code: Select all
 . . 1 | . . . | 2 . .
 . 3 . | 4 . 5 | . 6 .
 7 . . | . 8 . | . . 3
-------+-------+-------
 . 8 . | . . . | . 5 .
 . . 6 | . . . | 1 . .
 . 4 . | . . . | . 9 .
-------+-------+-------
 5 . . | . 4 . | . . 7
 . 7 . | 1 . 3 | . 2 .
 . . 2 | . . . | 9 . .

Nice solution is welcome.
Thanks.

This puzzle looks more like a caecum than an appendix (which, incidentally, isn't the beginning of the large intestine as that honour goes to the ileocaecal valve with the appendix being an add-on, an afterthought as it were at the end of the cul-de-sac of the bowel, but never mind, I'm not bitter). Should we start an anatomical sudoku thread, do you think?

You probably don't want a long (contradictory) implication stream that results in the puzzle being solved with a cascade of Singles.

Code: Select all
[r3c8]=4,[r3c7]=5,[r3c3]=9,[r2c3]=8,[r2c1]=2,[r3c2]=6, ...
...      [r9c2]=1,[r7c2]=9,[r8c5]=h9,[r2c9]=h9 => [b3]=INVALID => [r3c8]=1

maybe.

Here's one :
Code: Select all
 . 1 . . . . . . .
 . 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 .
 . . . . . . . 5 .
 . . 6 8 7 3 2 4 .
 . . 5 . . . . . .
 . . 7 5 9 1 8 . .
 . . . . . . 3 . .
 . . . 9 8 5 1 . .
 . . . 6 . . . . .
