Every time I try to check my solution from the Sudoku by Pappocom puzzle in the Toronto Star, I get a reply that no solution can be found to that puzzle. It has now been months since I was able to get any solutions. Do you know why? (I am putting in the first five numbers from the puzzle l-r, top-bottom).

Mary If you have all the cells filled with the numbers 1-9 just once in each row column and box then you have solved it, so you shouldn't need the answer.

Pat is probably hinting that far better than having a look at a solved grid knowing how to get there is more satisfying. If you get stuck try posting the grid in Help with particular puzzles. As most of us are scattered around the globe and don't have access to the puzzles directly this is more likely to get a reply.

That's a possibility since no one ever altered the Sudoku: the computer program from Pappocom title line on the index page.

Otherwise, she would have probably posted her request in the forum of Wayne's new web site

this remains the only "Solutions" section for the Pappocom puzzles in the newspapers,
indeed the newspapers continue sending their readers to sudoku-dot-com

I filled in the first five numbers that were printed in the grid prior to my entering anything. The number put in were from left to right and down on to the second line left to right if need. The publication was also the Toronto Star
The puzzles was listed as Hard and had a #76 on it.
The puzzle was
