animated sudoku tutorial

Postby ab » Fri Mar 10, 2006 9:32 pm

I've uploaded an animated tutorial to one puzzle. It explains some of the basic techniques on quite a nice puzzle.

It's nearly 2Mb and given that my website is on Geocities, that equates to 2 views an hour:( So if someone wants to mirror it feel free.

Actually it was 2.7 Mb but geocities was not keen to upload that. So if someone has got some spare bandwith I could email them the original animated gif. The new one rushes through the latter stages of the puzzle, but by then it's all just singles.

anyhoo here's the addy:

I made the file a bit smaller. It's only 1.7 Mb now.

Don't think it detracts from the tutorail. I hope not.

Animated tutorials are always nice.:)

The quota seems to have been reached already, so I have mirrored the files here: http://vidar.gimp.org/aidan/

Putting files over 1 MB on geocities space and promoting for mass of people to download them is like tempting with fate or playing with fire. I hope you have all your current files backed up and have another webspace in reserve in case your account got cooked...

Thanks vidarino that should mean more people can see it.

I know putting big files on geocities is daft. But I spent ages working on that animation, not thinking it would come out that big and that was the only way I had to publicise it.

I have removed the animated tutorial from my site, because bundled along with my solver is a program that does something very similar. You can get the software from the same link as above:

vidarino might keep his copy of the tutorial available, that's up to him!
