I would appreciate any pointers on the next logical step to solve the following,

1*2|54*|*9*
6*9|21*|5**
**4|8*9|*12
**8|***|37*
**7|***|1**
**5|***|9**
4*6|3*8|251
**3|*21|**9
**1|*54|*37

(1)(378)(2)(5)(4)(367)(678)(9)(368)
(6)(378)(9)(2)(1)(37)(5)(48)(348)
(357)(357)(4)(8)(367)(9)(67)(1)(2)
(29)(12469)(8)(1469)(69)(256)(3)(7)(456)
(239)(23469)(7)(469)(3689)(2356)(1)(2468)(4568)
(23)(12346)(5)(1467)(3678)(2367)(9)(2468)(468)
(4)(79)(6)(3)(79)(8)(2)(5)(1)
(578)(57)(3)(67)(2)(1)(468)(468)(9)
(289)(29)(1)(69)(5)(4)(68)(3)(7)

For what it is worth, it is taken from The Times book 3 puzzle number 99.

Thanks in advance for any and all tips.

Okay, for a start there's only one place you can put a '4' in column 7. You can also make some exclusions in column 6, based on where the '6's' can be and there's a lovely triple in box 4 which really tidies things up a bit. And then...Oh look! There's only one place you can stick a '2' in column 2.

Happy continuing...:)

P.S. Look out for the hidden pair in column 1.
